Updating the software or firmware of your product
Software and firmware updates improve product features and stability. Install any available updates to keep your product working at its best.

Check the firmware version of your product.

What to expect first time out of box:
- You must be connected to the Bose App to update the earbuds
- Your QuietComfort Earbuds II will immediately begin transferring an update when you first take them out of the case and place them in your ears
- Placing the buds back in the case will pause the update process
- You can use the Earbuds while it is transferring the update
- The transferring update process can take up to 45 minutes
QuietComfort Earbuds II Update process
- When an update is available, the Bose app automatically downloads it.
- Once downloaded, the app transfers the update to your earbuds, which can take up to 45 minutes
Tip: The earbuds must be connected to the app for this to happen. The app can be open or minimized, but closing the app stops the transfer. Additionally, the earbuds must remain in your ears and within Bluetooth® range to stay connected and download the update. - Tap "Install Update."
- Tap "Update Now" and follow app instructions to complete the update.
- When the update is complete, the status light on the charging case goes out.
- Take the earbuds out of the case and place in your ears. You should hear the connection "Vroom" tone. If not:
- Keep the earbuds in your ears and wait 2 minutes for the earbuds to reboot.
- If you still do not get the connection tone, place the earbuds in the case, close the lid for 10 seconds. Remove the earbuds from the case, place in your ears and try again.

- On a computer, go to btu.bose.com to open the Bose updater
Tip: If you have difficulty with the updater, see Compatibility info for the Bose online product updater - View the terms of use, then click Accept and Continue to start
- Click Download and save the file to your computer
- Open the file and install the updater
Note: If the page does not automatically advance, click the click here text.
- Connect your product to the computer with a USB cable
- If the updater shows an update is available, click Apply Changes and wait for the update to install
Note: The product image shown below may differ depending on the product you are updating.
- Once updated, disconnect your product from the computer.
