Using composite or S-video cable

You can connect video to your system and TV using Composite or S-video cables: Composite is more common and, comparitively, S-video provides better image quality.

To use a Composite/S-Video, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the Composite or S-Video cable to the appropriate video output jacks on the media center connection panel
  2. Connect the Composite or S-Video cable to the appropriate video input jacks on the TV
From the system display:
  1. Turn the Lifestyle System off
  2. Press and hold the Enter button on the media center control panel
  3. While holding the Enter button, press the Store button on the media center control panel until "Video:" appears on the display
  4. Continue to hold the Enter button and press the Volume up button until "Video: NTSC Composite + S-Video" appears on the display. When the desired choice appears, release the Enter button
From the TV:
  1. Turn the Lifestyle System on and select the CBL-SAT sound source
  2. Make sure the TV is on with the correct input selected
  3. Press the System button on the remote
  4. Press the right arrow until "Video" is selected. Press the Enter button
  5. Press the down arrow until "Video Connector" is selected. Press the Enter button
  6. Press the down arrow to select "Composite + S-Video", and press the Enter button
  7. Press the Exit button to leave the menu
