What different audio devices can I play through the Wave® SoundTouch® music system IV?
Aside from its built-in AM/FM radio and CD/MP3 CD player, the Wave® SoundTouch® music system IV can play wireless audio from most of today's portable music devices, including smartphones and tablets. The standard 3.5 mm Aux IN input accepts MP3 and DVD/CD players and even older audio cassette players. In addition, you can stream music over your home Wi-Fi® network.
Does the Wave® SoundTouch® music system IV offer dual independent alarms?
Yes. Two different wakeup times may be set, customised for each person's preferences (Internet radio station, CD, AM/FM radio station or beep, etc.). This is handy if two people wake at different times.
How many CDs can I load into the Wave® SoundTouch® music system IV?
The Wave® SoundTouch® music system IV has one CD slot.
Can I use headphones with the Wave® SoundTouch® music system IV?
Yes. The Wave® SoundTouch® music system IV comes with a headphone jack.
What is needed to set up my SoundTouch® system?
All you need is a home Wi-Fi® network and a smartphone or tablet. Everything else required is included in the box.
Are SoundTouch® systems Bluetooth® compatible?
Yes. The Wave® SoundTouch® music system IV can be used with a Bluetooth® device, such as a smartphone, tablet or laptop.
What Internet streaming music can I play?
SoundTouch® systems let you play Internet radio stations from around the world. You can also play music services like Deezer, Spotify® and Pandora®.
Can SoundTouch® systems be used in a public Wi-Fi® spot (airports, coffee shops, etc.)?
No. Although most of these networks are free to use, their sign-up/sign-in processes differ from the SoundTouch® app set-up process. SoundTouch® products are designed for in-home use, not on-the-go.
How many systems can I have on my network at any one time?
It depends on the bandwidth of your home Wi-Fi® network. For most homes, we expect you can have up to four systems connected wirelessly. For more than four rooms, we recommend using Ethernet wired connections to some of them.
Can I stream different music to different rooms?
Yes, if you have multiple SoundTouch® products, you can stream different music in different rooms, the same music in every room or customise zones to play what you want, where you want.
What operating systems are compatible with the SoundTouch® app?
The app is compatible with Windows® XP, 7, 8, 10; 64-bit Macs® running OSX 10.6.8 and later; any iPhone®, iPad® or iPod® touch running iOS5 and later; Android™ devices running Android™ 4.1 and later.
Can I play stored music from a NAS (Network Attached Storage) drive on SoundTouch® systems?
Yes, SoundTouch® systems are compatible with selected NAS drives, including Synology's DiskStation and Western Digital's My Cloud™, so you can stream your personal music library even while your computer is off.
What audio formats are supported by SoundTouch® systems?
MP3, WMA, M4A, AAC, FLAC and Apple Lossless formats are supported.
Can I stream music from multiple computers using SoundTouch® systems?
Yes, as long as each computer has the SoundTouch® app installed on it. Each computer appears as a separate library on the app's source list.
Can I stream video?
No. SoundTouch® systems are designed for audio only.
Can SoundTouch® systems stream AM/FM radio or TV audio from one room to another?
No. SoundTouch® systems are designed to stream Internet radio, music services like Pandora® or music stored on a computer.
Can I set the presets on the remote itself?
Yes. Just press and hold a preset to save whatever you're currently listening to. Note that you can also use the SoundTouch® app to drag and drop presets from your smartphone or tablet.
